Did it My Way

Sinatra (post2)Sinatra (post)

Drew Frank Sinatra for Mom back in 2002.  I loved that SHE loved it!  Mom passed in ’07 and Frank has been in my garage since.  Friend and fellow Blogger, AnnMarie, inadvertently reminded me of this piece, so I pulled it out, dusted it off and am posting it for her.  Stop by and check out her awesome poetry and art at Ann Together.

  1. This is a wonderful portrait! I have a hard time getting a natural looking smile in portrait drawings. You’ve captured a lively, jolly expression that really feels right. Great work.

I am sorry about the loss of your mom. I am glad she loved this drawing so much, and I can certainly see why.

    • Hi Jenna, thank you for you kind words.
Ya know, my artistic style has changed so much since ’02 and I think that if I were to draw that same thing again it would be completely different. Better or worse, I’m not really sure but definitely different.

  2. This is scary – you know who I’ve been listening to all morning and he’s singing to me right now – yup – old blue eyes! Terrific portrait!
    am:)
I was so excited when I saw Frank’s portrait while listening to the Crooner himself – I didn’t read your post first. Gosh, I just read the text below the image. You’re too kind – thank you, Leslie. 🙂
I know how much your mom must have appreciated this special gift from her talented daughter.
ps I know it’s late, but I am sorry for your loss. Mothers are irreplaceable – but they do manage to cling inside their children’s hearts really well. 🙂
